Leadsman product

Listing Evaluation.

A structured, expert-backed evaluation of one specific boat listing, delivered before you commit to travel, inspections, or a survey.

Why evaluate a listing

A listing tells you what the seller wants you to know.

Leadsman examines what the listing says, what it leaves out, and where its claims conflict with vetted vessel information.

01

Identity verification

Is the boat what the listing says it is? Leadsman pulls the make, model, year, and configuration from the listing and matches them against its reference library.

02

Specification reconciliation

The listing's claims (length, displacement, draft, rig, keel) checked line by line against vetted reference data for the model, with every disagreement flagged.

03

Design-ratio analysis

Displacement/length, sail-area/displacement, ballast ratio, hull speed, and keel and rudder configuration, computed deterministically and interpreted plainly.

04

Design and model commentary

The design behind the boat: construction, offshore history, strengths, compromises, and known areas of concern.

05

Findings with evidence

Where the listing is inconsistent, unproven, or unusual, the evaluation says so and quotes the source text so you can judge it yourself.

06

Buyer's next steps

The questions to ask the seller and the diligence priorities the evaluation surfaces, so a viewing, an inspection, or a survey starts from knowledge, not hope.

The photos show what look like original chainplates, and the listing does not mention a refit. Chainplate condition deserves professional inspection.

Ask the broker

Which rigging components were replaced, by whom, and in what year?

The Listing Evaluation is a pre-survey screening tool. It does not replace a marine survey, rig inspection, engine inspection, sea trial, insurance review, or independent professional advice.

Built for one kind of boat

Built for owner-operated sailboats from 22 to 60 feet.
